Public Sector Big Data Analytics (DRSA) is one of the programs under the “Data-Driven Government” initiative developed by MAMPU to lead the Big Data Analytics (BDA) initiative in Malaysia.
The roles of MAMPU in implementing DRSA are as follows:
1.Plan, manage, coordinate and monitor the implementation of BDA programmes in the public sector.
2.Plan, manage, coordinate and maintain the DRSA Platform.
3.Plan, manage, and coordinate the competency of big data analytics in the public sector.
4.Plan, manage, coordinate of promotion and change management programs to encourage the implementation of big data analytics in the public sector.
1.Utilizing data analytics for designing and making precise, fast, effective, and proactive decisions towards improving citizen-centric government service delivery systems.
2.To implement data analysis and generate descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive knowledge towards improving government service delivery systems.
3.To develop public sector personnel competencies in Data Science through coaching and training activities.
4.To maximize data sharing in government agencies and to promote data-driven innovation.
1.Develop DRSA Platform as a shared platform among the government agencies.
2.Implement coaching and training activities in developing agency data products.
3.Provide advisory and consultations services to government agencies in implementing BDA.
4.Produce guidelines for implementing BDA in public sector.
Cabinet Meeting dated August 20, 2014 decided that public sector agencies should implement the Big Data Analytics (BDA) initiative:
1.The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM), in collaboration with MAMPU and MDEC, develops the Malaysian Government Data Analytics Framework.
2.MAMPU and MDEC collaborate to implement four government BDA pilot projects.
3.MDEC leads the private sector BDA initiative, while MAMPU leads the public sector BDA initiative.
