BACKGROUND
Hackathon Open Data Programme 2017 themed Width of Horizon Creativity, Creating Innovation Aspirations with tagline #biaraplikasiberbicara is divided into three (3) categories of participation which is Public Sector category, Industry category and Public and Private University as well as Secondary School category. The programme attracted 39 groups of 133 participants for all three categories. The programme is an ongoing 48-hour application development competition for the Public Sector category and Industry and Public and Private University category and 30 hours for Secondary Student category. This programme is a testimony of the organizers’ concern to ensure the delivery of service is a people’s perspective.
OBJECTIVE
The Open Data Hackathon Programme 2017 aims:
1. To provide a platform for creative and innovative product data creation;
2. To utilize open data capabilities in product revenue; and
3. To promote open data innovation in the delivery of public services.
IMPACT
The impact of this programme are as follows:
1. Development of 39 innovative and creative applications using open data for people’s use;
2. Enhance sharing and use of open data among civil servants, industry, academia and the public;
3. Produce new ideas in order to improve the service delivery system by utilizing transparent, sustainable and complete data; and
4. Four (4) application development focus areas have been implemented which is Experience Experiences Innovation, Innovation With Nature, How Do You Build A Smarter City and Spark A Smart Change For Vulnerable
